Overview on the Overseas Official Trip of the Pattimura University Delegation to Pukyong National University (PKNU), Busan – South Korea
to attend the annual meeting of the Indonesia-Korea Public Universities Academic Network (PUAN) Consortium

Introduction
The existence of Pattimura University in an international body or organization is absolutely necessary to be able to follow and improve the development process of academic cooperation towards the goal of becoming a world class university. Based on this, Pattimura University as one of the state universities in Indonesia needs to build a network and actively participate in organizations or bodies that are formed to improve academic and research cooperation between countries or those with an international scope.
The Indonesia-Korea Public Universities Academic Network (PUAN) Consortium is one of the consortiums formed to build and strengthen cooperation in the academic and research fields between Pukyong University in Busan, South Korea and state universities in Indonesia. This consortium has an annual agenda that is implemented to discuss various aspects to improve the performance and benefits of the consortium. For 2024, the host is South Korea so that the annual meeting activities will be held at Pukyong University Busan, South Korea, which will be held from May 22 to 23, 2024.
Basis for Official Travel Permit
Permit from the Ministry of State Secretariat No: B-022379/Kemensetneg/Set/KTLN/LN.01.20/05/2024 for Vice Chancellor as the leader of the delegation and No: B-015621/Kemensetneg/Set/KTLN/LN.01.20/05/2024 for other delegation members.

Activities:
Discussion of the renewal and signing of the Consortium Statute
In the meeting between the PKNU delegation and the Delegations from State Universities from Indonesia that are members of the consortium, a discussion was held regarding the contents of the objectives section of the PUAN Consortium Statute. From the results of the subsequent discussion, important matters were agreed upon which are renewals of the points contained as the objectives of the Consortium, which are as follows:
Objectives of the PUAN Consortium:
- a) develop a network of partner universities with real connections in order to improve the quality of education, science-technology and internationalization;
- b) develop, in a long term, to a prestigious educational consortium/association, which shall bring about a global connection among prestigious and active universities;
- c) encourage cooperation between members of the Consortium and the development of effective networks. The cooperation would include but not limit to: exchange of students and academic staff; credits recognition/transfer; research collaboration (research groups, international conferences, researcher exchange, scientific journal operation); sharing experience of university management towards sustainable development by empowering and advancing technology and enhancing society engagement through knowledge and technological transfer;
- d) promote university values and benefits for member institutions; and offer valuable services in higher education and research;
- e) give active support and guidance to Members of the Consortium in their development in higher education and research and in enhancing their contributions to society;
- f) develop the mutual programs in Higher Education and Science-Technology between members; and between the Consortium and the rest of the world.
