ASEAN Week Program at FPT University Da Nang Vietnam

Pattimura University’s Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems Inaugurates International Partnership with FPT University, Vietnam.
Pattimura University, represented by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Dr. Ruslan H. S. Tawari, M.Si., and accompanied by the University’s International Office, officially established an international partnership with FPT University, Vietnam, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Student Exchange Agreement on Monday, August 18, 2025, at FPT University’s Da Nang Campus. The officials of Universitas Pattimura  which also attended the event are Head of International Office Jonny Latuny, and International Office staff Hetty G. Siwabessy,
The delegation also consists of four students which represented Unverstas Pattimura in the ASEAN Week Program 2025 held at FTP University. The students are Friela J. Sekewael (English Language Program of Teacher Training Faculty), Maria J. A. Batlajery (Economics and Business Faculty), Juliandro F. Matahelumual (English Language Program of Teacher Training Faculty) and Faith J. Sahumena (Faculty of Law).

The signing ceremony began with presentations from each university to further explore the potential and strengths that can be leveraged through the collaboration. This was followed by technical discussions regarding program implementation, which is planned to begin next year. The future collaboration will encompass various strategic areas, including student and faculty exchanges, research collaboration, information technology training, curriculum development, and innovation- and business-based entrepreneurship programs. Both parties also agreed to encourage joint activities that support the internationalization of education and enhance graduate competitiveness.

Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Dr. Ruslan H. S. Tawari, emphasized that this partnership is a positive step in expanding Pattimura University’s international network, particularly in Southeast Asia. Through this collaboration, students and faculty are expected to gain cross-border learning experiences that will enrich their academic insights and professional skills. FPT University, one of Vietnam’s leading universities and a leader in technology and business, welcomed this collaboration.

As a concrete demonstration of this initial step in the collaboration between the two universities, Pattimura University sent four students from the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education to participate in the “ASEAN Week Program” cultural exchange program, which took place from August 18-21, 2025, at the FPT University campus in Da Nang. Both institutions believe that there are ample opportunities for collaboration, particularly in the development of applied research, digital innovation, and student entrepreneurship.
